Am I Waiting for a Guy Who Doesn't Exist

Lately I spent my free time to read www.setapartgirl.com trying to read out all editions of this magazine. And I found one of my favorite :) I give some of my comments and some with bold text are the one that I truly agree :D So I wanna share with you guys, hope it will blessed you! Enjoy!!

Q&A with Leslie - Am I Waiting for a Guy Who Doesn't Exist?
“Recently one of my guy friends made it known that he has feelings for me. I was honest in my answer that I couldn't see us married. We're too different and there are qualities that I need in a guy that he doesn't have. He asked me if I was one of those girls that "always thinks the grass is greener on the other side of the fence." That comment has been bothering me ever since. I've been waiting patiently for that one guy to come along that I know I could spend my life with. I've read dozens of books on compatibility and how to know yourself well enough to know who you would be good with. Do you think those books have given me too idealistic of a mindset? Am I just waiting for a guy who doesn't exist? I've never wanted to settle for less than extraordinary in my life...with relationships, God, etc. Do you think I'm holding onto an impossible fairy tale ideal, or holding out for God’s best for me?”

Leslie response:
God created marriage – and everything leading up to it – to be a picture of Heaven on earth. He created men to be a picture of the heroic manhood of Christ. He wants no less for you. No matter what the culture says, He is asking you not to settle.

But do real Christ-like Warrior-Poets really exist anymore? That’s the desperate question burning upon the heart of nearly every young woman I meet. And I can say unequivocally that they do – because I’m married to one. Is Eric the only one? (That’s the next urgent question that arises). And I can say unequivocally that he is not – because I’ve had the privilege of interacting with scores of them around this country, and I am encountering more of them all the time.

So what exactly is a Warrior-Poet?
A Warrior-Poet has made a sacred covenant with his holy King; he has chosen to deny himself, take up his cross and follow Christ. He no longer lives to please his own selfish desires; he lives to please his Lord. He is not seeking to draw attention to himself, but to draw all eyes to Jesus. As John the Baptist said, “He must increase, but I must decrease.” (John 3:30 KJV). That’s the motto of the Warrior-Poet’s life. Far more important than finding a man you are “compatible” with is finding a man after God’s own heart. When God writes the love story, the compatibility factor takes care of itself.

When I was first getting to know Eric, I saw a marked difference between the way he treated me and the way almost every other guy on the planet did. For one thing, he wasn’t pursuing the opposite sex. He was pursuing Christ. The majority of his time was spent in prayer, in Biblical study, and in serving God’s kingdom on the mission field. In spite of his dynamic personality, he never sought to gain applause or be the center of attention. He didn’t seek out attractive young women. Rather, he sought out the loners and the outcasts; those that no one paid attention to. At a party or church get-together, he would often spend his entire evening in the corner, encouraging someone that everyone else had overlooked. Money had no hold upon him. While other young men his age pursued success and wealth, Eric gave all of his money away and depended upon God alone for provision. I vividly remember one time when a money-hungry multi-level marketer cornered Eric and asked him what kind of car he dreamed of driving. Eric shrugged and said, “I just need a car that runs.” The salesman was stunned that Eric wasn’t pining after a BMW like every other college-age guy he knew. (sinting keren abis ini!!)

Eric didn’t flirt – with me or any other girl. He’d made a commitment to honor and respect his future wife. Even in his friendships with girls, though he was friendly, he was careful not to draw their hearts toward him. He was set-apart – first for Christ and then for his future wife.

Not long before I met him, God had taken Eric through a process of laying down every “idol” in his life. In college, he’d been in a pre-med program, at the top of his class. In the midst of all his forward momentum, God asked him to lay down his money and career pursuits and give his life on the mission field. Eric’s obedience caused many raised eyebrows among his peers – but his spiritual life went from mediocre to vibrant in a matter of weeks.

It was Eric’s willingness to lay down everything for Christ that shaped him into a Warrior-Poet. As he laid down all worldly allurements and learned to love his Lord with all his heart, soul, mind and strength, he became a mighty, valiant, loving, compassionate man of God. No longer was he just a church-going, self-focused male with a Christian label. He was radically abandoned to the King of the Universe – and every area of his life exuded the glory of Christ.

That’s the kind of man you should hold out for.
Every time I was around Eric, I found that afterwards I was not thinking about Eric Ludy. I was thinking about Jesus Christ. Often after spending an hour or two listening to him passionately talk about the Word of God – I ended up in my room with my Bible, eagerly pouring over the Scriptures and seeking to know Christ more.
(I think this is how the healthy relationship works)Unlike anyone I had ever known, Eric Ludy drew me closer to Jesus. In fact, his example was a key factor in my own decision to live a radically surrendered life for Christ. Don’t ask the question, “am I compatible with this guy?” but rather, “does this guy put Jesus Christ first above all else, and does he lead me closer and closer to my true Prince?”

A lot of young women complain to me that, while they might take my word that Warrior-Poets do exist, they never see any men like that. This is largely because true Warrior-Poets cannot be found amidst the throngs of typical “Christian” males. As I wrote in my book Authentic Beauty:
Christ-like Warrior-Poets aren’t usually mixed in with all the other mediocre males. They are living set-apart lives, just as our Prince has called us to do. They aren’t often found in the normal crowds at typical guy-girl hangouts. They don’t seek the spotlight. They aren’t in hot pursuit of girls; they don’t try to satisfy their loneliness with relationships. Christ-like Warrior-Poets are found on their knees in hidden retreats with their King, or on the battlefield of human service, or in diligent study of their Lord’s ways. (p 159)
And as I have said before, the best way to find a Christ-like Warrior-Poet is to stop searching for one. Focus on your intimate love-relationship with Jesus Christ, and He will be more than faithful to bring a Christ-built man into your life in His own perfect time and way. It’s amazing how God brings like-minded men and women together when we actually step back and give Him the chance to work.

Many young women ask me how high their standards for a guy should be. Is a Warrior-Poet one who perfectly reflects the manhood of Jesus Christ? What if there are still evidences of selfishness or immaturity in his life? Does that mean he’s not the real thing?

The mark of a Warrior-Poet does not lie in his perfection, but in the direction of his life. Is he aimed toward the world, or aimed toward Christ? Is he eagerly pursuing more of Christ, or is he preoccupied with himself? If his life direction is pointed toward “less of me and more of Him” than he has the Warrior-Poet blood within his veins, even if God has not yet rasped and refined all the rough edges of his masculinity. If he has made Christ the center of his existence, then Christ will be faithful to smooth away the wrinkles and refine him more and more into His divine likeness.

Christ-built Warrior-Poets do exist in today’s world! And God asks us to trust Him enough to bring one into our life in His own perfect time and way; not to settle for anything less than His very best for us.

Nyasar

Gw harus balik sendiri ke home without no one accompany me. Dan gw super deg2an, Its my first time gw harus jalan sendiri di kawasan yang unfamiliar buat gw. Walau di Singapore sering melalang buana, gw ga tegang or worry sama sekali tuh, why? Because Singapore is so small and safe! Mao malem-malem juga, pake celana pendek and kaos orang mah ga peduli (is not am encourage you to do so yah) but Singapore terkenal dengan Negara yang tertib, bersih dan aman!

Scared? Hmm.. is not the exact word to express. I feel so insecure. Beberapa kali gw minggir ke bahu jalan just to make a call which way should I go.. Bener2 super ngeri loh! Yang bikin gw ngeri adalah.. you know, I know lah ya.. Jakarta parahnya gimana.. in terms of crime, belon lagi kalo gw salah jalan, Jakarta tuh gede bok.. belon lagi macet2nya.. manthap..

Contohnya gw.. gw jelas-jelas tau gw mau pulang.

Tersesat itu bisa disebabkan karena: kesibukan, cobaan2 yg datang, prioritas, komitmen, and you named it by yourself. So here I am, I want to encourage all of you to stand still and know He is God..

But lets make a u-turn.. no matter how bad your past is.. how many mistake you’ve done. Broken hearts broken life, He will take them all. So come to the father :D always remember that God is love.. He is all in all. He is your strong tower in time of your weakness.. He is your rock, your fortress to which you can always go (psalm 71:3) He will never forsake you never leave you, tho the world may fall. (Hebrew 13:5) He is always with you and hold you by your right hand (psalm73:23)

My First Cries In 2012

2 December 2011:
Two cute puppies was born.
One boy one girl.

21 December 2011:
My friend delivered her to my house.
I decided to call her Lilo..
Her brother's name is Castle.

31 December 2011:
I spent my new year eve at Puncak with my family. Of course I brought her along. She's freezing and keep crying while I put her at basket tho I put a lot of blanket there. So I took her to my bed, she sleep with me :D
Day by day as time goes by, my love grow deeper and deeper. She's so cute, so fluffy, naughty and yet fragile.. Before I went to work, I always feed Lilo. Business at office, crazy traffic, exhausted feeling.. all went away when I saw her. She follow me wherever I go. I saw her first tooth, her first rolling, her first glance..

Yesterday, when I was at bathroom. My mom said that yoyo bites lilo. I thought she was kidding at the first place. I heard lilo cried. And I ran to see her.. I took her, trying my best to calm her down, when I touched her head.. Her head was mushy, and I started to cried.. Because I know this is very very very bad condition :(

We bought her to the vet. The doctor gave injection, and madicine. All the way to and from vet, she never stop crying. The sounds of her crying breaking my heart.. We do our best to keep her calm. Using the warm lamp near her body, lots of blanket.. And 30mins after we got home, she's passed away ( ╥ ﹏╥)

Hiks hiks sedihnya ga ketolongan, nangis sampe kepala puyeng banget.. Emosi gw terkuras banget :( baru sebulan setengah padahal.. Tapi gw bener2 jagain banget huhuhu.. What a great lost..

May you rest in peace my little one.. You will be the cutest among others in Heaven.. How I wish to spent more time with you.. I love you always.. God please take care of her.. Someday I wanna see her at my bedroom in Heaven above.. Amen..

Review Your Work

Got this story thru broadcast messenger. Its a worth reading story :)

Ibu: Tidak, terima kasih.

Bocah: Tidak. Makasih.

Pemilik Toko: Tapi tadi kedengarannya kamu sangat menginginkan pekerjaan.

2011 Review and 2012 Resolution

2011 has been a marvelous year for me.. Thru the ups and down, thousand times I've failed, still His mercy remains.. I'm thanking God for breaking my heart because now I've found treasure.. I've found my calling, my gift and truly realize that to walk out of His will is to walk into nowhere..

Review back again, during the hard times.. My spass got rejected, broke up with my ex, confused should I for good, choosing new church, finding a job, and rest I can't mention one by one.. People may think I'm strong for the struggles I've had, problems I've encountered, and pains I've felt. But they are wrong. Because I have a weak heart, but behind me is a strong God. He become my shoulder to cry on, my tower of refuge and under His shelter I found rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

So give it all to God: your past hurts, your present problems, your future ambition, your fears, dreams, weaknesses habits, and hang-ups.. Put God in the driver's seat of your life, let Him alone write your life love story.. Remember one thing, nothing under His control can ever be out of control! For me there's no regret, only lesson learned. I'm welcoming 2012 with a grateful heart. Let's embracing the promise that God has in store for all of us! May we see the things that our eyes have not seen, hear the things that our ears have not heard, and experience the things beyond our wildest imagination!

And here's my list for 2012 resolutions:

-. Read the whole bible
I want to read the whole book again and again this year.. I hope until the end of 2012 I can read it twice. I've found the link here. 52weeks bible reading plan. Have you read all (not only read but focus) His love letter? I'm encourage all of you to dig deeper and experience more of His unfailing love.

-. Read proverbs every month regularly
I love proverbs, who doesn't? Haha.. Yep, this year I want to read regularly.. Today is 1st day of Jan.. So I will read proverbs 1.. 2nd day of Jan, read Proverbs 2.. And so on.. Do you realize why there's 31 proverbs? Because 1month is 30/31 days.. Last year because of my laziness I don't read it everyday.. This year I vowed to my self I will read it day by day.. I want to be like King Solomon, full of wisdom! \(»ˆ⌣ˆ«)/

-. 12 books until end of 2012
Read one book every single month.. And of course christian book not novel.. This year I only read 7books. Sigh, I need to work really hard on this.. Sometimes the desire to read novel is so strong until I forget I haven't finish the Myles Munroe's book. I can read novel in 2days, but sometimes it tooks 2months to finished other book. ( ╥ ﹏╥)

-. New car and new phone
I'm hoping for this two haha!!

-. Hillsong conference 2012
My friends, vincent and fanny are going this year.. I heard so many positive review and feedback.. And me too wanna experience it by myself..

-. Attend all wedding invitation
Last year I missed out 2of my friend's wedding :( because of works, sick, etc. This year I will try my very best not to miss out any of wedding invitation. I have 4 wedding invitation and 1 engagement party invitation and I hope I can attend all.. Most of them are my closed friends. And how I miss to catch up with an old friend!

-. Running business on my own
Still remember about paperonie? :p I will begin my portfolio. From designing - printing - and photo taking. The progress is I will design one card each month. Hopefully I can run my own design boutique before 2012 end. Earning a living while doing what I love is a dream that I want to pursue.

-. Ministry
At the moment I served at GMS Favour under creative ministry - make up division. And its my dream to teaching and building the next generation of God. However at the moment, the situation do not allow me. Because this both ministry happened at the same time, morning service. I pray if it God's will, I'm more than willing to serve at children ministry too!

-. Social service
This year I will save and set aside some money for the needy. Especially kids. You may read my story here, the scholarship program. And about two months ago, I watched the news about the lack of clean water for people who live near the river musi. This news really breaking my heart, those people drink, cook, eat, and clean their clothes using the same water.. :( still thinking what can I contribute for these people.

-. Get closer with CG27
How I miss my LOGers so badly :( and thank God now I've found cell group here. Hopefully this year I can know them better :D CG here stands for Connect Group.

Okay, I think that's all the major resolution for 2012.. I'm so excited, have faith that this year I will see many of God's promises come to pass! Stand still anie! So how about you guys? What's your resolution? :)
